“What happened to the women at 10 Rillington Place?”

Timothy Evans (John Hurt), a van driver who can barely read, moves into the upstairs flat at 10 Rillington Place with his wife Beryl (Judy Geeson), hoping to make a steady life for his young family. Downstairs lives John Christie (Richard Attenborough), a soft-spoken former policeman who offers help with a kindly manner. Richard Fleischer's film is about what happens when a man nobody listens to is set against a neighbour everyone trusts.
