“Raise your voice. Even if it cracks.”

Evan Goldman (Eli Golden) is twelve, newly moved from New York City to Indiana after his parents' divorce, and all he wants is a bar mitzvah party that the whole eighth grade will show up for. To get there he has to find friends at a school with its own settled social circles. Tamra Davis follows him into that search, where Patrice (Gabriella Uhl), the neighbor who lives next door, is the one who sees him as he is.
