“Centuries before the exploration of space, there was another voyage into the unknown.”

Christopher Columbus (Gérard Depardieu) sails west to find a new route to the East, backed by Queen Isabella (Sigourney Weaver) and opposed at court and aboard ship. Ridley Scott follows the voyage across the Atlantic and into a land the Spanish call paradise, already home to the Indigenous people who live there. What Columbus has staked on the crossing is his name, and the people he meets pay for it too.
