“Something Extraordinary Is About To Happen”

Levi Savage (Jasen Wade) joins the Willie Handcart Company in 1856, knowing they have left far too late in the season to reach Salt Lake City before winter. He warns the others and goes anyway, pulling a handcart alongside Elizabeth Panting (Emily Wadley) and the rest of the party. T.C. Christensen keeps the film on the people in that company, the ones who share the work of the road and the weight of what they believe.
