“Soon the screen will be bombarded by the most explosive barrage of クソッ ever filmed.”

Sgt. Frank Tree (Dan Aykroyd) is an Army tank commander in Los Angeles in December 1941, days after Pearl Harbor, and he's sure the Japanese are coming for the coast. Ward Douglas (Ned Beatty) and half the neighborhood agree, and every rumor sends another crowd running toward the shoreline. Spielberg stages the whole panic as one big ensemble pileup, with bodies, vehicles and shouting in nearly every frame.
