“One love.”

Krish Malhotra (Arjun Kapoor) is a Punjabi man in love with Ananya Swaminathan (Alia Bhatt), a Tamil woman, and the two of them agree not to marry until both sets of parents say yes. Abhishek Varman puts them in front of Krish's mother, Kavita (Amrita Singh), and Ananya's mother, Radha (Revathi), whose families see nothing alike. Between the two of them, the love is the easy part, and every dinner, visit and introduction is where it gets tested.
