2046

“Are you still in the mood for love?”

Chow Mo-wan (Tony Leung Chiu-wai) is a writer in 1960s Hong Kong, still carrying the woman he loved and could not have. He starts a science fiction story about a train to 2046, a place where lost things are said to return, and the women who pass through his life begin to turn up in its pages. Wong Kar-wai keeps coming back to one idea: a person can pretend to move on without ever really letting go.
