“This is a warning”

Ghost (Samantha Morton) is a survivor in New San Francisco in the year 2073, and what she wants is to be heard, so she tells her story to anyone who will listen. Asif Kapadia, who cowrote the script with Tony Grisoni, takes cues from Chris Marker's La Jetée and cuts the fictional future together with real footage and interviews from our own present. Ghost keeps talking in a city where democracy and personal freedom have already been taken apart.
