“Share the Ecstacy!”

Tony Wilson (Steve Coogan) is a Manchester TV news reporter in 1976, ambitious and bored, hunting for a way to make his name. After seeing the Sex Pistols play, he talks his station into broadcasting them, and local bands start asking him to manage them. Michael Winterbottom follows Wilson and his friends as they start Factory Records and open The Hacienda, with their own money and their own nerve on the line.
