“Can you change your whole life in one day?”

Monty Brogan (Edward Norton) is a New York drug dealer with one day left before he starts a seven-year prison sentence. He spends it with his father, his girlfriend Naturelle (Rosario Dawson), and two old friends, Jacob (Philip Seymour Hoffman) and Frank (Barry Pepper), in a city still raw from 9/11. Spike Lee follows him from one goodbye to the next, and Monty keeps trying to work out who put him here.
