“The Life of the Party... before she got a life.”

Gwen Cummings (Sandra Bullock) wrecks a car drunk on the day of her sister's wedding, and a judge gives her a choice: prison or a rehab center. She picks rehab, then sits through every group session and treatment program insisting she has no drinking problem, while the other residents, including Eddie Boone (Viggo Mortensen), keep watching her. Betty Thomas plays the group sessions for laughs and then lets the room go quiet around her.
