Frank Pesce Jr. (Anthony LaPaglia) wins $6.2 million in the 1976 New York State Lottery, then gets arrested for throwing rocks at a church. At the police station he tells his story to Sgt. Tartaglia (Robert Forster), with his father Frank Sr. (Danny Aiello) and his mother (Lainie Kazan) in the picture. George Gallo builds the telling around a family that has to decide what the money will do to them.
