Behnaz Jafari (Behnaz Jafari), a well-known actor, wants to know whether a young girl's desperate video message is real, so she drives to a tiny village with the filmmaker Jafar Panahi (Jafar Panahi) beside her. The girl, Marziyeh (Marziyeh Rezaei), says her family has forbidden her from studying acting. Panahi, working under a filmmaking ban, plays himself, and the long drive and the polite villagers bring the two of them closer.
