3 Generations

“A Family In Transition”

In a New York household of three generations, Ray (Elle Fanning) is a teenager who has decided to transition from female to male. Maggie (Naomi Watts), his mother, has to sign the consent forms, and that means tracking down a father who is no longer around, while Ray's lesbian grandmother Dolly (Susan Sarandon) has her own opinions. Gaby Dellal keeps the film at the kitchen table, where the question is how a family learns to call someone by the right name.
