“Mankind's last hope.”

The year is 3022, and the crew of a space station is far out in deep space when they watch what looks like the destruction of Earth. Captain John Laine (Omar Epps) holds the group together as the others, among them Jackie Miller (Kate Walsh), begin to come apart under the strain. John Suits cuts between flashbacks and flash-forwards, and Laine is left deciding whether there is any reason to stay on the mission.
