Lili (Delphine Zentout), fourteen and on holiday with her family in Switzerland, wants to be taken for a woman, and she has settled on an older man as the way to do it. Catherine Breillat follows her as she pushes at her parents and at the world, trading challenges with Boris (Jean-Pierre Léaud), an aging playboy. Each of them wants power over the other, and neither can quite say so.
