“The Greatest Musical Hit the Screen Has Ever Known!”

Julian Marsh (Warner Baxter) is a Broadway director in poor health who wants one more hit so he can retire. His new show leans on Dorothy Brock (Bebe Daniels), a temperamental star, and on Peggy (Ruby Keeler), a chorus girl with no part to speak of. Lloyd Bacon directs the musical numbers, staged by Busby Berkeley, and the film leaves you with its 1933 songs by Harry Warren and Al Dubin.
