Martin Schibbye (Gustaf Skarsgård) is a Swedish journalist who, with his photographer Johan Persson (Matias Varela), slips across the border from Somalia into Ethiopia in June 2011. They are chasing a story about how the hunt for oil is hurting the people of the Ogaden region. Jesper Ganslandt follows what happens to Martin in the days afterward, and the long stretch inside Addis Ababa's Kality prison that tests how much of himself he can hold onto.
