“A coming of age story”

Alex (Morgan Freeman) and Ruth Carver (Diane Keaton) want to sell the New York apartment they have lived in for decades, before one more winter of climbing its five flights wears them down. Richard Loncraine follows the couple as the sale, the buyers and their own second thoughts pile up. Alex stands at the top of the stairs, a little out of breath, looking back at the rooms they are about to leave.
