“Survival is Power”

Mateus (Christian Malheiros), a poor teenager from the Brazilian countryside, takes a job at a São Paulo scrapyard, only to find he has been handed over to a human trafficker. Luca (Rodrigo Santoro), the man who runs the place, keeps Mateus and the other workers in debt and under watch. Alexandre Moratto writes a story where a boy's own sense of right and wrong costs him when everything around him runs on money owed.
