“He has 88 minutes to solve a murder. His own.”

A call comes in on the eve of an execution: Dr. Jack Gramm (Al Pacino), a forensic psychiatrist, has less than ninety minutes to live. One of his students has just been killed in the manner of Jon Forster, the serial killer his testimony put away. Jon Avnet keeps Gramm moving through the city with Kim (Alicia Witt) and Lauren (Leelee Sobieski) at his side, and he cannot tell which of the people closest to him to trust.
