“Joy. Sorrow. Desire. Love. Pain. Fear. Lust. Redemption. Want to know the Meaning of Life? It'll cost you only...”

A small booklet printed on fine paper, with colour pictures, promises to explain the meaning of life for $9.99. Tatia Rosenthal animates the story in stop-motion, among the neighbours of one apartment block, including the Peck brothers, Jim (Anthony LaPaglia) and Dave (Samuel Johnson). Dave answers the ad and sends away for it, and the book arrives while he is still trying to work out what he wants from the days ahead.
