In occupied France in the early 1940s, the Joffo family is tight-knit and happy until the yellow star is sewn onto their clothes. Their parents send the youngest sons, Maurice (Batyste Fleurial), twelve, and Joseph (Dorian Le Clech), ten, south alone, hoping to reach their older brothers in Nice. Christian Duguay adapts Joseph Joffo's memoir of the journey, and the story rests on how fast two boys have to stop being children.
