“Brothers by blood. Enemies by chance. Killers by nature.”

In 1980s Hong Kong, Sung Chi Ho (Ti Lung) runs a counterfeiting operation for the triads until his subordinate Shing (Waise Lee Chi-Hung) betrays him and he goes to prison. Out again, he wants to make peace with his younger brother Kit (Leslie Cheung Kwok-wing), a policeman who has never forgiven the family name. John Woo puts everything at risk here: Ho's second chance, his brother's trust, and his friend Mark's (Chow Yun-Fat) loyalty.
