Marianne Lane (Tilda Swinton), a rock star recovering from throat surgery, is resting on an Italian island with her partner Paul (Matthias Schoenaerts) when a phone call announces the arrival of her old lover Harry (Ralph Fiennes), with his daughter Penelope (Dakota Johnson) in tow. Luca Guadagnino fills the villa with talk, music and heat, and the quiet Marianne came for is gone. Under all the hospitality sits an old question about who still belongs to whom.
