In Hamburg, Inspector Franz Bulon (John Mills) is trying to break a drug ring, but someone keeps killing his informants before they can talk. At home, his much younger wife Lisa (Luciana Paluzzi) comes and goes at hours she doesn't explain, and he can't tell whether he's imagining the rest. Massimo Dallamano sets the two of them across a dinner table, and the silence between them says more than the case ever does.
