A Bronx Tale

“One man lives in the neighborhood, another man owns it. A devoted father battles the local crime boss for the life of his son.”

Calogero (Francis Capra), a nine-year-old on a Bronx stoop in the 1960s, watches a man shoot another man dead and keeps quiet, which earns him the attention of Sonny (Chazz Palminteri), the neighborhood's most charismatic crime boss. His father, Lorenzo (Robert De Niro), drives a city bus and wants him clear of men like that. Making his directorial debut, De Niro stages the block as a place where the boy has to choose which of the two men to become.
