An ant colony on a grass blade lives under the thumb of Hopper (Kevin Spacey), a grasshopper who collects their harvest as tribute each season. Flik (Dave Foley) is clumsy and inventive, and when he accidentally destroys the offering, he volunteers to find warrior bugs to drive Hopper away. He returns with circus performers instead, and must convince them and himself that an unlikely group can stand against a tyrant.
