“He's about to ruin a perfectly good divorce.”

Carter Spencer (Adam Scott) has spent fifteen years playing referee between his divorced parents, Hugh (Richard Jenkins) and Melissa (Catherine O'Hara), who still can't share a room. Then he learns he was an unknowing subject in a study of divorced children, and a follow-up with Lauren Stinger (Mary Elizabeth Winstead) begins. Director Stuart Zicherman puts Carter between the two of them again, with the calm he has built over all those years now at risk.
