A Clockwork Orange

(1971)Directed by Stanley Kubrick137 min · NC-17Science Fiction, Crime
Being the adventures of a young man whose principal interests are rape, ultra-violence and Beethoven.

Alex (Malcolm McDowell) is a fifteen-year-old gang leader in dystopian London whose nights mean ultraviolence and theft. When caught and imprisoned, the state offers him a deal: submit to an experimental cure that will make him incapable of crime. Kubrick transforms the rehabilitation into psychological conditioning, and what emerges is no longer quite Alex, left vacant-eyed in the milk bar, the classical music playing, his reflection a stranger.
