Bob Dylan (Timothée Chalamet) is nineteen and from Minnesota, and he steps into the West Village in the early 1960s with a guitar and a voice nobody has a name for yet. James Mangold follows the years between that arrival and 1965, as Dylan gets taken in by Pete Seeger (Edward Norton), Woody Guthrie (Scoot McNairy) and the folk scene's regulars. The more it claims him, the less he wants to stay what it needs him to be.
