Nora Helmer (Claire Bloom) keeps a cheerful house and a secret from her husband Torvald (Anthony Hopkins): years ago she forged a signature to save his life. Now a man who knows about it is blackmailing her, and Patrick Garland's adaptation of Ibsen's play stays inside the Helmers' rooms as the pressure builds.
