A Fantastic Woman

“My name is Marina Vidal. Do you have any problem with that?”

Marina Vidal (Daniela Vega) is still reeling from the sudden death of her partner Orlando (Francisco Reyes) when she finds herself questioned and watched by people who have no claim on her grief. Sebastián Lelio stays close to her as she is shut out of the mourning, treated as a suspect and a curiosity in the same week she lost the man she loved. The film is about a person's right to grieve and to be taken as exactly who she is.
