A Girl Missing

Ichiko (Mariko Tsutsui) works as a private nurse in a household she once nearly belonged to, looking after the grandmother and listening to the eldest daughter, Motoko (Mikako Ichikawa), when she needs someone to talk to. Then Motoko's younger sister disappears, and the media name the kidnapper: Ichiko's own nephew. Koji Fukada keeps the camera at a close, patient distance from Ichiko, letting each ordinary room in the house grow tense.
