Camille Bliss (Bernadette Lafont) is in prison, accused of murdering her husband and her lover, and she is happy to talk about it. Stanislas Prévine (André Dussollier), a young sociologist writing a thesis on criminal women, sits down across from her with his tape recorder. François Truffaut lets Camille tell her life and her many men while Stanislas listens, tape turning, the cell door shut behind him.
