A Heart in Winter

Stéphane (Daniel Auteuil) repairs violins for a living and gives away almost nothing of himself, a coolness his partner Maxime (André Dussollier) has long taken for granted. Then Maxime's new love Camille (Emmanuelle Béart), a violinist who plays Ravel as if it were a confession, starts to wonder what, if anything, sits behind that stillness. Claude Sautet keeps the two of them circling, one reaching and the other holding back.
