A High Wind in Jamaica

“Piracy and High Adventure on the High Seas!”

Emily Thornton (Deborah Baxter) is one of five Jamaican colonial children sent home to Britain in 1870 for proper schooling, and her ship is taken by pirates led by Chavez (Anthony Quinn). Alexander Mackendrick puts the children aboard the pirate vessel with the crew, who grow fond of them. The captors think they are looking after the children, but the children are the ones who see the grown men most clearly.
