A Journal for Jordan

First Sergeant Charles King (Michael B. Jordan) is an Army soldier deployed to Iraq who starts writing a journal of love and advice for his infant son. Back home, New York Times editor Dana Canedy (Chanté Adams) goes through the pages and the story of how the two of them found each other. Denzel Washington directs it plainly, keeping the camera close to the faces and letting the family's ordinary moments carry the weight.
