A Lake

Alexi (Dmitriy Kubasov) is a young woodcutter who lives with his family in an isolated house beside a lake, in a snowbound northern country the film never names. He has epileptic seizures, and when one takes hold he is overcome by an ecstatic state in which he feels part of the forest. Philippe Grandrieux builds the film around Alexi and his sister Hege (Natálie Řehořová), a closeness their blind mother, father and young brother watch without speaking.
