A Letter to Three Wives

(1949)Directed by Joseph L. Mankiewicz103 minRomance, Drama, Mystery
“ALL OF THEM WONDERED WHILE ONE OF THEM WANDERED!”

A letter reaches three wives just as they leave on a day trip, and it's from Addie Ross, a friend who announces she has run off with one of their husbands. She doesn't say which. Deborah (Jeanne Crain), Lora Mae (Linda Darnell) and Rita (Ann Sothern) spend the hours that follow turning over their marriages, one by one. Joseph L. Mankiewicz uses the waiting to show how little each woman trusts that her husband is staying.
