A Most Wanted Man

“When national security is the mission, intelligence is the key.”

Günther Bachmann (Philip Seymour Hoffman) runs a small, deniable surveillance team in Hamburg, and he is rumpled and permanently short on sleep. His attention settles on Issa Karpov (Grigoriy Dobrygin), a Chechen Muslim who has entered the country illegally. Anton Corbijn keeps the work slow and gray, and what Bachmann builds with Annabel Richter (Rachel McAdams), the lawyer who takes Issa's case, rests on trust he has to ask for and may not be able to repay.
