A Nightmare on Elm Street

“If Nancy doesn't wake up screaming, she won't wake up at all.”

In a small town, the teenagers keep dying, and nobody can say why. Nancy Thompson (Heather Langenkamp), a cop's daughter, traces the deaths to Fred Krueger (Robert Englund), a child molester the parents burned alive years ago who now comes for their children in their dreams. Wes Craven sets the clock against Nancy and her boyfriend Glen (Johnny Depp), because every hour they stay awake costs them, and sleep is where Krueger waits.
