À Nous la Liberté
Louis (Raymond Cordy) breaks out of prison and talks his way into honest work, climbing until he runs a factory and fills it with machines. Years later Émile (Henri Marchand) walks out of jail and turns up at the gates, and René Clair sets Georges Auric's songs against the assembly lines. Louis has built a fine life, and he is afraid of every knock at his door.
