A Passage to India

(1984)Directed by David Lean163 min · PGDrama, Adventure, History
“David Lean, the Director of "Doctor Zhivago", "Lawrence of Arabia" and "The Bridge on the River Kwai", invites you on . .”

Adela Quested (Judy Davis) and the older Mrs. Moore (Peggy Ashcroft) travel to colonial India, where Adela is engaged to a city magistrate, and both want to see the country beyond the English club. A friendship with the Indian doctor Aziz (Victor Banerjee) gives them that, though mistrust gets there first. David Lean closes the story on the landscape, which stays enormous and unmoved by the people who came to argue over it.
