A Perfect World

“A convict. A cop. A hostage that will make one of them a hero.”

Butch Haynes (Kevin Costner) is a convict who breaks out of a Texas prison and grabs a young boy, Phillip (T.J. Lowther), as a hostage to get him past the roadblocks. Clint Eastwood directs and also plays Chief Red Garnett, the Ranger on their trail with a criminologist, Sally Gerber (Laura Dern), at his side. The longer the two run together, the more Phillip has his own safety, and a friendship with the man who took him, to lose.
