A Pigeon Sat on a Branch Reflecting on Existence

Jonathan (Holger Andersson) and Sam (Nisse Vestblom) travel Sweden as novelty salesmen, peddling vampire fangs, a laughing bag and a one-toothed mask to people who are rarely in the mood. Roy Andersson sets their rounds among fixed tableaux, a nightmare in one scene and a flamenco lesson or a visit from King Charles XII in the next. Both men are worn out and quietly unlucky, still carrying their sample cases from door to door.
