“When a clandestine party goes wild, it's all about pork... and prestige.”

In the summer of 1947, a West Yorkshire town is getting ready to celebrate the wedding of Princess Elizabeth and Prince Philip, while meat is still rationed. Dr. Swaby (Denholm Elliott) and his friends are secretly fattening a pig for the occasion, and Malcolm Mowbray follows the chiropodist Gilbert Chilvers (Michael Palin) as he steals it. Gilbert is a mild man, and it's his wife Joyce (Maggie Smith) who pushes him on.
