A Prophet

“Escaping the prison of life.”

Malik El Djebena (Tahar Rahim) is sent to prison for six years with no family, no schooling, and no ability to read or write. Almost at once he is claimed by the Corsicans who run the place, led by César Luciani (Niels Arestrup), and he starts carrying out their "missions." Jacques Audiard keeps the cells and corridors tight around him as Malik, thin and watchful, learns what the men above him need and what he can make of it.
