A Quiet Passion

(2016)Directed by Terence Davies125 minDrama

In the nineteenth century, a young Emily Dickinson (Emma Bell) leaves school and returns to a family home where she will write for the rest of her life. Terence Davies follows her from schoolgirl to the reclusive woman Cynthia Nixon plays, alongside her sister Vinnie (Jennifer Ehle) and her father Edward (Keith Carradine). The poems pile up unpublished, and the film is about a person who keeps making things nobody sees.
