A Room with a View

“An Edwardian Romance”

Lucy Honeychurch (Helena Bonham Carter) is a young Englishwoman on her first trip to Florence, with her cousin Charlotte Bartlett (Maggie Smith) as chaperon and a pension room that faces the wrong way. The Emersons, a father and his son George (Julian Sands), offer to swap rooms, which scandalizes Charlotte. James Ivory follows Lucy home to England, where an engagement to Cecil Vyse (Daniel Day-Lewis) waits, and where she must decide what Italy has done to her.
